Wireless Communication at the Technion

There are currently three wireless networks in the Technion network: TechPublic, TechSec and Eduroam.

 

TechPublic wireless network 

An unsecured wireless network for Internet browsing only. Maximum upload/download rate is 2.5 Mb/Sec. Designed for guests without an access account  to the Technion network. No access to Technion resources.

 

TechSec wireless network 

A secure wireless network that allows access to Technion resources similar to a wired access. Designed for all Technion users with a valid computer account. There are no limits on speed.

 

Eduroam wireless network

Secure international wireless network for academic guests from other universities. Maximum upload/download rate is 15 Mb/Sec. VPN access is enabled for other universities. The service is intended for Technion guests from academic institutions around the world who are partners in Eduroam project.

Guests – Faculty-approved guests will be able to connect to the wireless network in coordination and through the support staff.
