Connecting to TechSec from Windows 10 — manual

Connection to TechSec from Windows 10

  1. Open Network and Sharing Center.
    1. For this let’s start from right-click on network icon on taskbar (left bottom side of a screen in Hebrew system, right bottom – on another systems):

      and click on Open Network & Internet settings.
    2. In opened window click on Network and Sharing Center:

  2. Click on Set up a new connection or network:

  3. Choose Manually connect to a wireless network and click Next:

    1. In next window fill Network name with a word TechSec and choose Security type: WPA2-Enterprise:

      Then click Next.
    2. In the next window click on Change connection settings:

    3. Choose Security tab:
      Choose Security
      and you will see:

      In this window leave all settings as-is.
    4. Click on Settings (not on Advanced settings!):

      and make your settings look like these ones on pictures, i.e. select the checkbox Verify the server’s identity by validating the certificate, then select the checkboxes for AAA Certificate Services and all DigiCert CA. Also select the checkbox Connect to these servers and add eduroam.technion.ac.il.
    5. Then click on Configure… button:
      click on Configure
      and remove the checkbox on Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any).
    6. After that click twice on OK.
    7. You will return to the window:

    8. Now click on Advanced settings and inside the window select the checkbox Specity authentication mode: and choose User authentication from drop-down menu:
      click on Advanced settings
    9. By clicking on Save credentials you can now enter your credentials in full format, e.g. with @technion.ac.il or @campus.technion.ac.il:

    10. After entering your credentials click OK three times till you return to the start screen:
      click OK
      here click on Close.
  4. Your Windows 10 is ready to be connected to secure wireless network. Now just click on network icon on the taskbar below to receive list of available wireless networks like this:

  5. Click on TechSec, select the checkbox Connect automatically and then Connect:

  6. You may receive one more warning like this:

    just click Connect.
  7. If your credentials were correct and you did all according to this guide your PC must connect to TechSec without any other questions and warnings:
