Technological history

In the Computer and Information Systems Division, a project has been established to display technology items from the past. This display is called “technostalgia” and it presents to the observer technological advances that have been experienced over the past decades, in the fields of computing and other technological fields.

Among the various collection items, office accessories, photo items, media products and gadgets, personal computers, central computing items and more are displayed.
Attached to each item is a label documenting its details and age. The display now includes items from the 1950s.
The collection of items has been accumulated for many years and was unveiled for display in 2019 at the initiative of employees of the Computing and Information Systems Division.
The contents of the display are still updated with items delivered by their owners, who keep them out of the darkness of warehouses and closets for exposure to the public.

The display cabinet with its contents is located next to the conference rooms on the ground floor of the computer center building, in the heart of the campus.

Interesting items from the past, to enrich the collection with items, are welcome, for this you can contact Itzik Shapira at 8293692 or by email ccaizik@technion.ac.il.
